I can relate to when you talked about how people can be seen under a bad light, because they only know one language. Even though, I know English and Spanish I still get judgmental stares to when I decide to talk my native tongue, which is Spanish. To tell you the truth there was a time were I was afraid to speak Spanish. This was due to being afraid of being judged or looked at like I didn’t belong. This only made me feel bad about my culture and myself. For one, I felt like I was hiding part of me. Secondly, I wasn’t embracing my beautiful culture. Therefore, I believe people should be educated on the benefits of globalization. Not only will it prove job opportunities, but people will also have the benefit to experience other cultures besides their own.
Ti: Thanks for commenting! Those are subjects that should not be ignored in relation to globalization and language. I tried to do the best I could at answering those questions in my new blog post titled "Differentialism, Convergence, Hybridization and Language". Check it out and let me know what you think!
SS: Thank you for sharing your stories, insights, and personal feelings in regard to this topic. It is much appreciated. I think many people have felt the way you have felt with Spanish. I would say most people feel that way when they are learning a new language. I believe it is important for people to be able to speak there own language even if they are learning another language, it's who they are. I agree with you on people being educated on the benefits of globalization because then people will, hopefully, be more open minded and willing to embrace other cultures and still keep their identities. Thanks again for your response! :)

What about language homogenization? Is English dominating the global world?
